The Berlin International Piano Masterclass stands out for its uniqueness in nature, structure, and program worldwide and is the only major solo piano event in Berlin. The world’s leading pianists and educators travel to Berlin to teach the most promising young pianists in the halls of Europe’s largest music university. The highlight of the event is a performance by these young artists at one of the world’s most famous concert halls, the Berliner Philharmonie. The concert will be recorded using state-of-the-art technology and released both as a CD and DVD. The faculty and students of the Berlin Masterclass become part of the “Berlin Masterclass Network” and gain access to an exclusive global career network.

Why do we need your support?

Due to the many expenses the festival incurs and the resulting high costs, the Berlin International Piano Masterclass relies on your donations. Your support will be used for:

1. Inviting world-class pianists and professors to Berlin: International teachers and pianists require fees, travel, and accommodation expenses.
2. Providing financial support for talented students: Not all participants can afford to attend and rely on scholarships.
3. Enabling camera teams and equipment for high-quality video and audio recordings: Recordings of concerts and masterclasses document the Berlin Masterclass 2025 for live streaming and public sharing on platforms like YouTube. Additionally, professional recordings are valuable career tools for young pianists, used for their social media or competition applications.
4. Ensuring the professional organization of the festival: We need funds to promote the event in the media, hire assistants, cover organizational team costs, legal advice, insurance, transportation, meals, piano tunings, student accommodations, and create flyers, brochures, and posters.
5. CD and DVD production: Recording for a CD is very costly. Additionally, the CD must be edited, manufactured, and designed, and the cover created before being uploaded to streaming platforms.
6. Locations: For the Berlin International Piano Masterclass 2025, we have booked the Kammermusiksaal of the Philharmonie Berlin, the Kamersaal at the Universität der Künste Berlin, teaching rooms at the university, numerous practice rooms for participants, and conference halls.
