Berlin International Piano Masterclasses


The 2025 festival  will take place between 3. March 2025 – 9. March 2025 at the UdK Kammersaal and conclude with a Gala concert at the Berlin Philharmonie on 10. March 2025 with the title: “Berlin international Piano Masterclass: The next generation of pianists“. We are excited to announce that we are able to put together a faculty made up of the most important pianists and pedagogues of our generation and that we are working together with the most exclusive and prestigious locations in Berlin, Germany, Europe and around the world for the 2025 edition of the Berlin International Piano Masterclasses!


Each morning (10:00-13:00) the students get private lessons (1 hour) from faculty members.

The afternoons session, two sessions of 90 minutes, between 16:00-20:00, will consist of 4 Masterclasses with two of our teachers. Two students will play publicly in one session, which consist of two Masterclasses, each 45 Minutes, in front of an audience and the other participants. Each session of the Masterclass will be given by a different professor.

Each student will have the option to play, during this week, in 2 Masterclasses in the afternoon and to get 2 private lessons in the mornings, from our faculty and guest teachers.

All classes are open to the public and will be recorded and possibly broadcast on our platforms.

UdK Berlin – Kammersaal

Masterclasses will take place in the beautiful Kammersaal of the Universität der Künste Berlin. Lessons will take place in different rooms but in the same building.

The adress of the Kammersaal of Universität der Künste is the Fasanenstraße 1B, 10623 Berlin, Germany. The Hall can be reached by car, bicycle and on foot, but also by public transport in Berlin. The public transport may include a short walk from the stop to the Kammersaal.

Walking from Zoologischer Garten Berlin to the Kammersaal takes estimated 5-10 Minutes.

As the main purpose of the class is interpretation and performance, the Berlin International Masterclass gives all of the participants the incredible chance to perform in the final concert at the Berlin Philharmonie and to be able to present their performance on their social media and using it for applying to competitions and concert organizers. 

Berlin Philharmonie – Kammermusiksaal

In our final concert, the participants will have the unique opportunity to perform in the Kammermusiksaal of the Philharmonie Berlin. The highest level of professional sound and camera recordings is provided!

The adress of the Kammermusiksaal of Berlin Philharmonie is the Herbert-von-Karajan-Str. 1, 10785 Berlin, Germany. The Philharmonie can be reached by car, bicycle and on foot, but also by public transport in Berlin. The public transport may include a short walk from the stop to the Philharmonie.

Walking from Potsdamer Platz to the Philharmonie takes estimated 5-10 Minutes.

The final concert will be recorded professionally with three cameras from three different angles and the most advanced recording equipment. Special lighting packages are available that give the student’s recording the best possible quality currently available on the recording market. Each student will have the right to use this recording afterwards for his own promotion. The final concert will be broadcast live and the recording will be available to watch on our website and other platforms such as YouTube. The final concert will also be recorded on a CD and, if possible even with a DVD production. The CD of the final concert of the 2025 edition of the Berlin international Piano Masterclass will be published on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, but also be available as a hardcover in an online shop and possibly in retail stores.

The Masterclasses will be professionally video recorded and posted on our website and other platforms for the benefit of other students who could study and advance from watching the best reknown teachers and pianists giving Masterclasses at the prestigious UdK Kammersaal.

The festival will also include a workshop on career management, hosted by agencies and management professionals. These workshops will provide young pianists with advice on marketing, networking, and career management. The managers and concert agencies are also invited to attend the final concert, which gives the participating young pianists an opportunity to perform in front of potential agencies. Additionally, a workshop on stage performance and presence will be offered to the young artists, helping them prepare for their future careers as performing musicians.

Every participant who is accepted into the Berlin international Piano Masterclass will become a member of the “Berlin Masterclass Network”. This is a network of the most important artists of our time and the most influential individuals of the classical music industry. Read more

As such a project is limited we can only accept up to 12 students who will all participate in the Masterclasses and in the final concert. A pre selection video audition for the application to the festival (for more information click here) will take place and a student who is accepted to participate in the festival must commit to take part in all the classes, either as participant or as audience. Otherwise he will be excluded from the final concert in the Philharmonie.

Apart from the individual lessons and public Masterclasses, each student will be offered up to 20 free tickets to the final concert (a value of around 1000€) for people he could invite to this concert.

Furthermore, each participant receives a certificate for participation in the Berlin international Piano Masterlass 2025 and a written confirmation of membership in the Berlin Masterclass Network.

Accommodation by our hosts or in a hotel and practice rooms (with a minimum of 2 hours a day per student) will be provided by the class as well as some other events such as a welcome dinner, social activities and workshops.
